Kvareli Special Reserve Koncho&Co

Kvareli Special Reserve Koncho&Co

Some wines are made. This one is earned.

Koncho and Co makes Kvareli Special Reserve only in the best years, only from their oldest vines, only from one specific corner of the Kvareli appellation where black slate soils and a unique mountain microclimate do something to Saperavi that cannot be replicated anywhere else.

The harvest is reduced deliberately — fewer grapes per vine means every cluster carries more of everything. Then 24 months in oak barrel. Then bottling without filtration, exactly as it came from the barrel.

The result is the most complex and age-worthy wine in our entire portfolio. Dark fruit, leather, a finish that stays with you. The wine opens slowly over an evening and rewards patience.

This is our most expensive bottle. It is also the one people open for the moments that matter.

Dry. Full-bodied. Unfiltered. 24 months oak aged.

Georgian dry red wine. 100% Saperavi. Old vine. Kvareli PDO. Koncho and Co. Founded 1737.

  • Wine Profile

Kvareli special reserve is made with the grapes from the best and old vineyards of specific viniculture micro zone of Kvareli. The vineyards are especially rich with black slates, which determines the uniqueness of the wine. The wooded mountains and the hot cliffs of Kvareli, which surround the mentioned vineyards, create a special and unique microclimate, and all this is a pre-condition for obtaining the highest quality of the wine.

To achieve the highest quality of wine, it is held “green harvest” in the vineyards, when the grape starts first ripening. That improves the quality of the whole harvest due to the sharp elimination of its quantity.
